AGE IS A NUMBER     Age is relative as they say. Why am I writing about age? Honestly, I’m not sure but I was thinking about the few years of my life when I worked at a retirement home in North Carolina. I was the activity director for the independent residents there and it was a blast.     Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not revealing my age here but in my mind I have never thought much about it being more than a number. We all have an age but did you grow up hearing “why don’t you act your age”? I did, but mostly not directed at me because I usually acted more grown up.     Life has a way of sneaking up on you and when I look at photos of the past and now, wow, everyone sure looks older (not intended for anyone reading this, ha ha ha). But seriously we see others age around us and all of a sudden a glance in the mirror may reveal a few lines, gray hair, or loss thereof.      It’s all good in my opinion. THE WAITING GAME   What are you waiting for? That is a loaded question in life. There are many types of waiting that we do. We could be waiting for our ship to come in and change it all.     We could be waiting in the doctor’s office to be seen. Then there is the waiting in line to be seated in a restaurant for our turn to be seated. Expectant mothers wait for the baby to born.      You can also wait for inspiration if you are creative in some area of the arts to paint that beautiful picture or write that song. Are you anxious waiting for the coffee to brew? Are you in a hurry when you wait?     I have a long career in sales over many years and I waited more times than I can account for to close a sale when the potential buyer is on the fence or they are waiting for approval before proceeding.     No matter what you are waiting on in life, can you be still and patient during the process?   BUTTERFLIES     Anyone who knows me, knows I love butterflies and when you walk through my home it is obvious. They are magnificent creatures! There must be thousands of different ones in the world. The monarch in my photo was having a good time yesterday lighting on my lavender bush.     I have seen it around quite a bit but this is the first time I caught it on camera and I just happened to be outside with my friends dog. Timing is everything, isn't it?     What is so special about butterflies you may ask? Everything! They are beautiful for starters and if you watch them, they move rather quickly and unpredictably.      Butterflies spend a good deal of their lives in a cocoon waiting to emerge but they are not just sleeping. they start out as caterpillars that are not so beautiful.   TAKE THE LIMITS OFF!   I love the universe. It is so amazing and always expanding. We have a very limited perspective on what is out there. Would you take a trip out there?      Are you willing to take the limits off of your life? It is a scary thing to consider the unknown but exciting to consider the possibilities too. There are many opinions and debates on setting limits and many believe we can’t do something because of our background, race, religion, etc.     I will not get into those discussions however, I will encourage you to consider where you have set limits on yourself. There are time constraints for sure on our planet earth. But did you ever consider that in the quantum world, there is no time and no limits?     Can you use your imagination here a little and take a trip out there?   FREEDOM   Happy Fourth of July! Freedom is a word that can mean so many different things to people. The definition “ by Merriam Webster as the quality or state of being free, such as: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action. liberation from slavery or from the power of another.”     Freedom to me means the feeling of happiness and being me. Depending on where you live the external version of freedom could be simply being able to walk out your front door without fear or going shopping. Also it can mean financial freedom, physical freedom from being imprisoned, breathing fresh air, watching the sun rise and set.     I debated before writing this particular blog since it could be misconstrued.
